Twitter_logo_bird_transparent_png | Srijan Foundation | A Leading NGO in Jharkhand 34

[Music], hi jurassic cuties wendy here today, we're going to draw the twitter logo so, let's get started, to draw this twitter logo i'm going to, be starting with a blue colored pencil, today only because it's going to be, easier for me to color in the square, that the bird is in, so i'm going to start with the beak area, so i'm just going to come about right, here and i'm just going to come out, with a curve and we're starting the top, of the beak and then we're going to come, down, and, the beak is open so then i just broke my, color pencil because i was pushing too, hard, okay i need to sharpen this, okay but that's the basic beak um, drawing right there and let me sharpen, my pencil, okay and i'm back with a nuke with a, sharpened colored pencil so lesson, learned don't sharpen it too uh pointy, and don't press too hard, okay so for now that we have the beak in, i'm gonna come where i started right, here and i'm just gonna basically draw a, curve that comes down for the head, so i'm drawing kind of small only, because we're doing this freehand so, it's just a lot easier to draw, when it's smaller, and i'm just, it's not going to be perfect or exact we, just want to get a basic idea of this, bird so about there we have that curve, and then from there we're going to, imagine this curve coming down and so, about right here i'm going to start to, curve for the body, so then from there we're going to stop, about right there we're going to start, to draw the wing let's come up, so let's see here so i know when i go up, this curve the tip of the wing is not, going to really pass the head, so i'm just going to be aware of that, when i bring this curve up, so let's say, about right here ballpark, about right there and then i'm going to, start to draw one two three curves so, the first one is a little bit longer, i'm just gonna bring this down, and i'm gonna come out, and another one, and, let's hear another one smaller ones come, out again, and this whole time we're just imagining, this curve as it comes down, so that's our goal we just want to still, maintain, this curve, okay so then from there we're going to, come out right here, and draw another curve so this is going, to be the beginning of the tail, about right there it's going to pass the, wing a little bit and then from there we, can go ahead and just connect back, just make this darker so, just go ahead and connect back, to the curve we made right here, okay so there that's the basic shape for, our bird and because we're going to be, coloring in this part the solid blue you, can always come in and do some, adjustments really easily, okay so now that we have the bird in, let's draw the rounded off square that's, around it so i'm just gonna, um i'm gonna start on this side first, and about in this area, kind of like where the head and the wing, is close to it i'm going to start off, with a straight line, and then i'm going to come to the other, side just like, this side so close to the beak, and we're going to draw another straight, line, so we're just trying our best here to, make it, same as the other side so we have the, two let's make it, more level, from there let's draw the top so we're, going to come to the top uh well you, know what i'm going to draw my bottom, first it's a little bit easier for me to, see so just give it a little bit space, imagine this as a square so, about right here, just draw another line, so i'm just surrounding the bird and i'm, going to go straight up so we've created, this square so i'll say about right here, looking at my camera make sure it's, about a square, and go straight across just like this, one, and like i said we're doing this free, hand, so it's, if you want it to be really perfect you, definitely get a ruler okay so now that, we have these four lines in let's come, in here and we're going to just connect, it, so let's see it's easier for my hand i'm, just going to come right here in the, corner, and connect, from there i'm going to connect this, corner so same exact thing just round, off the corner and come back down, and same thing here, and one more, there approximate, okay so that's pretty much it except now, i'm just going to go in and color it and, make any kind of adjustments, after i fill it all in, [Music], [Music], so now that i'm pretty much done with, the coloring i can see right here that, this part is a little too flat so i'm, just going to come in here, and round this corner off to make it a, little bit smoother, so like i said because this part right, here is all solid blue it's a lot easier, to come in here and fix, any angles or curves that you need to, so maybe like right here make it a, little bit smoother, and, dip this in a tiny bit more, [Music], [Music], so they're all done as you can see i did, go back into the square to color it a, little bit more solid and then i made, some adjustments like right here on the, head i noticed it was just too round i, brought it in a little bit so it looks a, little bit better, but um that is pretty much it i hope i, really helped you draw this twitter logo, and thanks so much for watching if you, loved it please make sure to subscribe, and turn on your notification bell so, you won't miss any new drastic cute, videos, see you later, you

Early Sketches of the Twitter Logo,Ask HN: Whether my logo will sued or not?I have launched my Tweelerts android app in beta. My friend suggested me that i might get sued by Twitter because of twitter bird in logo (https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/594034922827882496/SDPDv7J1.png )

Please view my logo above and suggest whether i need to change my twitter bird or not . I took this twitter bird from https://www.iconfinder.com and it has license "Creative Commons (Attribution 3.0 Unported)".
,Why does London's Moorgate tube station have a mix of logo signage?,Apple's shining logo of Sanlitun Apple Store Penetrating thick fog in Beijing ,Ask HN: I registered a domain that has a Twitter account assigned to itI just registered a nice domain name for a new project. Let's call it xyz.com. The domain was free, but has been in use before.

I noticed the twitter handle @xyz is registered, has a text and a logo of the project that previously was on the domain. It has not twittered anything though. It has a link to xyz.com in its description and it is assigned to mail@xyz.com

What would you guys do? Just reset the twitter password and use it? Try to contact Twitter? Try to contact the previous owner? So far, I was not able to find any contact info..
,Flying Saucer in the Logo of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence,Changing the Logo of the Metro in Istanbul,This Is the New Logo of Juventus FC,Show HN: Logo tip - I used unicode characters for our logo.Hi, I'm learning to keep things simple.

I'm on startup no. 2 and have just put up a sign-up and twitter page. For the twitter page I needed a profile pic or logo of some sort so I've hacked together a little logo using unicode characters. Have a look: https://twitter.com/#!/TheSuperOwl

I think it looks quite cute, it's a temporary thing until we get a designer on board. The 2 founders are not designers (product person & developer) so we don't want this to hold us back with getting things going.

It's quite fun - I think we can play around with the unicode characters in the meantime. For example when our little Super Owl was first born his wings were down and now that it's been some time since he hatched his wings are lifted up.

I know this all probably sounds a bit trivial and silly in the grand scheme of things - but I thought I would share my wee unicode / logo hack with you. Maybe it's useful?.
,6 things that could ruin Twitter (and 5 that won't) 1. Buying friends. CNN announced Friday that it had acquired @CNNBrk, a Twitter feed that serves up links to CNN breaking news stories. Now that people are rewarded for selling followers, an entire underground economy will probably emerge. Perps will use dirty tricks to build a large number of followers, then sell those accounts to big corporations. The end result will be a large number of accounts that suddenly turn into sources of Twitter spam, and a large number of users who feel they've been tricked.

2. Username squatting. When I started following @CNNBrk, I thought I was following CNN itself. I didn't learn until yesterday that it was just some dude who grabbed the CNNBrk name, copied the CNN logo and served up links to CNN content. CNN's acquisition of @CNNBrk showed everyone that username squatting on Twitter pays. Expect to see millions of people signing up using trademarked IP, hoping to cash in later.

3. Forgetting to grow a business model. The trouble with not making money is that Twitter won't be able to keep up with demand. Which means more fail whales, slowdowns and problems. (The fail whale is a picture that's displayed on Twitter when the system breaks, usually because of excess activity.)

4. Invasive advertising. Ads on Twitter would be OK. Paying to not see ads would be OK, too. But ads that cover the screen or otherwise delay posts could harm Twitter badly. Twitter is about speed and brevity. Big ads that are fine elsewhere won't work on Twitter.

5. Spam. The good news about Twitter is that everything is instantly searchable. The bad news is that everything is instantly searchable. Stories abound about a user whining about some product only to receive a quick e-mail from the company they complained about.

Companies are using Twitter's great search tools to find out in real time what people are saying about them. This could all be further automated. I'd hate to see an entire ecosystem forming around the triggering of spam to your e-mail in-box every time you tweet something. This spam could also be used as a form of 'punishment' that stifles criticism. Another form of spam is unwanted ads sent as direct messages. Once this is automated, our direct-message in-boxes could be filling up with garbage. Spam ruined e-mail, and it could ruin Twitter.

6. Bugs and viruses. Twitter allows links, and links could send you to the same kind of sites and trigger the same kinds of downloads that initiate the downloading of Trojan horses onto your system. Twitter needs to stay on top of this before it becomes an industry.

5 things that wont!

1. Celebrity culture. Sure, Oprah and Ashton now dominate the Twittersphere. But to say celebrity tweets, celebrity gossip and celebrity trash-talk will ruin Twitter is to not understand the very nature of the service. Twitter is the one form of communication where you can individually choose who you listen to. This is different from, say, comments on Digg or even articles in the newspaper, where you have to wade through muck to find gold. Sure, we'll be hearing more than we want to hear about celebrities on Twitter. But we'll be hearing about it on TV, in blogs, and in magazines and newspapers. Those are the things that will be ruined by celebrity twittering. But on Twitter itself, we can just turn that stuff off.

2. Media hype. Twitter is overexposed in the media. But that just wrecks media, not Twitter. There is no such thing as unwanted communication on Twitter. If you chose to follow someone, by definition you want what they tweet.

3. Marketing and PR. Again, missing the point. Twitter will be great for people who want to get marketing information and interact with PR people (I'm one of them. I'd much prefer to tweet with PR people than exchange e-mail). But for those who don't, they can just stop following. And because of that, Twitter rewards marketers who communicate in a straightforward and appealing way and punishes anyone who uses some kind of exploitation. The marketing industry and Twitter will improve each other.

4. Big business. As Twitter's usage grows, of course, companies are going to build massive followings by doing things like raffling off expensive goods to followers. But this won't affect your own personal tweets any more than McDonald's ads affect how you make dinner. Corporations will be over there doing their thing, and you'll be over here doing yours. It only affects you if you choose to participate.
Want to compare network applications products? Visit the IT Product Guides now.

5. Google. OK, Google could ruin Twitter. But I don't think it will (if it acquires Twitter). Google would most likely grow the service even more rapidly, and keep its functionality pretty much the way it is, as they have done with other acquisitions. Plus, there are many ways Google could improve Twitter, including integrating it into Profiles, Chat and Gmail.

So if you're a Twitter user, enjoy its many great qualities while they last, because they may not. However, if the geniuses running Twitter remain faithful to the original vision (as other companies like, say, Craigslist, have done), then Twitter might stay great and become even greater..
,Ask HN: Does trademark infringement mean you're becoming famous?Yesterday I received an email from Katrin Rampf, legal manager for the Pomodoro Technique organization:

'We've noticed you're using our logo as app icon and twitter profile image.
This use of our logo is not permitted.
I kindly ask you to read our guideline and make the necessary changes to be in line with our guideline.'

The app we're talking about is Tomatoes (http://tomato.es). I will change the logo as soon as possibile because I don't want to infringe any trademark but I feel glad for the first line of text from Katrin because she says that 'they've noticed' Tomatoes app.

I call these 'happy problems'.

What do you think about it?.

,Logo Daedalus Critique of Artificial Intelligence,How Uber's new logo transforms into State Bank of India's logo,Ask HN: Getting EyeballsSeems like Arrington's post has sparked some conversation about the community and founders' desperation for exposure. What's the problem? Are people not clever enough to come up with unique marketing plans? Or do most of them fail?

Coming from someone who hasn't been involved in a startup (yet!), I've never really understood this inability among founders to develop clever marketing campaigns. Everyone seems to think they need to score a blog post. And even if that's what it takes, there's huge frustration and difficulty with doing so.

During Startup School '08, Arrington said the best way to get on TC was to create a story. That seems pretty straightforward to me. So create one. That doesn't mean email him asking him to demo your product. It means to stir up some drama. Leak a screenshot, 'accidentally' post something on twitter, etc. I'm pretty sure that's the type of story he's talking about. In being creative with creating features, you also need to be master storytellers.

Instead of blog posts, there are myriad of things you could do for promotion and eyeballs. Make a bogus/cute little app that might not relate to your site like that 'Is Hillary Swank Hot?' app that was here a week ago. Make it a gag site and promote there. Here's an idea: Make weekly videos of a puppet version of your logo gruesomely killing the logos of your competitors or just popular sites in general. Be a sensationalist.

It really shouldn't be all that hard, guys, honestly. People these days will watch anything, and there are celebrities and fads in every corner of the internet waiting to find an audience. Making them stick to your service is another problem, but getting exposure shouldn't be difficult..

,Ask HN: what should I do with SneakerGeeks.com?I've been squatting this domain for 5ish years and collected around 3K email addresses on a landing page with the strap-line: 'SneakerGeeks the box-fresh forum for trainer collectors'.

Guess you could say that means my concept has validated, but as I'm focusing most of my energies on CycleLove at the moment I don't have time to build a community around SneakerGeeks at the moment. Nevertheless I'mm loathe to let the domain name slip out of my hands (stupid I know).

I would love to do something along the lines of a Tim Ferris 'muse' with it, eg that generated a small amount of $$$ on auto-pilot... drop-shipped SneakerGeek products of some description, perhaps t-shirts?

PS. Here are some first t-shirt ideas I did a while back when I went under the Twitter moniker of @3stripe https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5809556/Hacker%20News/sneakergeeks_product_roughs.png not sure if I get away with using the Adidas logo like that though...
